Terms & Conditions

These terms govern access to and use of Fora, including our website, embeddable comments product, publisher dashboard, and related services.

1. Acceptance of Terms

By accessing or using Fora, you agree to be bound by these Terms & Conditions. If you are using the service on behalf of an organization, you represent that you have authority to bind that organization to these terms.

2. Our Service

Fora provides embeddable comment infrastructure, moderation tools, account dashboards, analytics, and related publisher features. We may improve, update, or discontinue portions of the service from time to time.

3. Accounts and Access

  • You must provide accurate account and billing information.
  • You are responsible for activity that occurs under your account or credentials.
  • You must keep sign-in links, tokens, and other access credentials secure.
  • We may suspend or restrict access if we detect abuse, fraud, or material violation of these terms.

4. Acceptable Use

You agree not to misuse the service. This includes, without limitation:

  • violating applicable law or third-party rights;
  • posting or transmitting malicious code, spam, or deceptive content;
  • attempting to bypass security, rate limits, or plan restrictions;
  • interfering with the stability or normal operation of the service;
  • using Fora to distribute unlawful, abusive, or infringing material.

5. Customer Content

You retain ownership of content you submit or make available through Fora. You grant us a limited, non-exclusive license to host, process, transmit, display, and back up that content only as needed to operate, secure, and improve the service.

You are responsible for ensuring that your content, moderation policies, and use of the platform comply with applicable law and the rights of others.

6. Data Export

Publishers on paid plans may export their comments and analytics data through the dashboard. We support standard formats (JSON, CSV) to ensure data portability. Upon account termination, you may request a final export within 30 days.

7. Plans, Billing, and Renewals

Paid plans are billed on the subscription terms presented at checkout and renew automatically until canceled. You authorize us and our payment processors to charge the applicable fees, taxes, and any valid overage or add-on charges associated with your account.

Unless otherwise stated in writing, fees are non-refundable once a billing period starts, except where required by law.

8. Cancellation and Termination

You may cancel a paid subscription at any time, and the cancellation will apply at the end of the current billing period unless stated otherwise in your billing flow. We may suspend or terminate access for non-payment, abuse, security risk, or material breach of these terms.

9. Intellectual Property

Fora, including its software, branding, interfaces, and documentation, is owned by us or our licensors and is protected by applicable intellectual property laws. These terms do not transfer ownership of our technology or brand assets to you.

10. Service Availability

We target 99.9% uptime for Fora services, but we do not guarantee uninterrupted or error-free operation. Maintenance windows, provider outages, network issues, and force majeure events can affect availability. We will make reasonable efforts to notify publishers of planned maintenance in advance.

11. Disclaimers

To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, Fora is provided on an “as is” and “as available” basis, without warranties of any kind, whether express, implied, or statutory.

12. Limitation of Liability

To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, we will not be liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential, exemplary, or punitive damages, or for lost profits, revenues, data, goodwill, or business interruption arising from or related to your use of Fora.

13. Changes to These Terms

We may update these terms from time to time. When we do, we will post the revised version on this page and update the effective date above. Continued use of the service after changes become effective means you accept the updated terms.
